27th Annual Shamrock Run & Walk

The ​IAC Sports Foundation and Indianapolis Firefighters Emerald Society are partnering together to host the 2018 Shamrock Run & Walk. IFD will extend their post-Parade celebration one extra day on Mass Avenue. The following will provide you with race information. More information and updates coming.

New Course (5 mile Run and 4 mile walk). Both courses will go to Indy’s Irish Hill Neighborhood in Fountain Square. The start and finish is located at the IFD Union Hall on Mass Avenue.

Proceeds will benefit amateur sports organizations in central Indiana and the Firefighters Emerald Society.

Competitive awards for the Run only. The top three (3) male and female finishers in the Run are awarded. Come dressed in your favorite Irish costume. We will hand out the annual McCrackin awards for best dressed.

There will be a large heated tent with an entertainment stage. Two bands and a DJ will provide entertainment at the start and finish. We will also have course entertainment.

There will be food and a beer garden run by the Indianapolis Fire Fighters. We will post the menu and beers on tap.

REST AND RECOVERY

The event will provide free fruit, water and cookies at the finish line.

GEAR CHECK

There will be a gear check inside the Union Hall on Mass Ave.

TIMING

The run is chip timed and the walk will be clock timed. Results will be posted after the event. Timing and scoring provided by Tuxedo Brothers Management.

MUSEUM (IFD)

Tour the Local 416 Union Hall, Firefighters Museum, Memorial Plaza and Walk of Distinction.

PACKET PICK UP

There will be a packet pick up and late registration the morning of the event (March 17th) from 8:30am till race time (10:00am) in the IFD Union Hall on Mass Avenue. We are working on a location and time for a packet pick up prior to March 17th.

FAQ:

  • Strollers are accepted. The parent will be asked to sign a waiver for the child.
  • Restrooms are located at the start/finish line and on the race course near the water stations.

  • Pre-registered runners are guaranteed a shirt. We do not guarantee to day of event walk-ups. No discounts apply on race day if we run out of shirts.

  • There is a GEAR CHECK on the first floor of the IFD Union Hall.

  •  The Run are chip- timed. The walk is clock-timed.

  •  We do post results online.

  • You are allowed to pick up a friend’s packet.

Packet Pick-up/Late Registration

We will have a packet pick-up and late registration the morning of the Run/Walk on March 17th starting at 8:30am at the Fire Fighters Union Hall located at 748 Massachusetts Avenue in Downtown Indy. Run/Walk starts at 10:00am.

We are still working on a packet pick-up date and location for March 16th.
